Head Teacher's Blog 1st December 2017

Well it has been a relatively quiet week here at The Peele. Mocks continued for Year 11 and Year 8 had their first Parents Evening. Friends of The Peele Bingo went well on Monday and over £130 was raised - all of the proceeds will go back into projects at the school. Our Prom Committee are getting into full swing, looking at what theme to have and considering the menus and dress code - Friends of The Peele will be helping to organise the Prom this year so we have made an early start to our planning.

On Wednesday Mr Chancellor took a team of intrepid Year 10s to Spalding for a basketball match. The team members were:

Lukas Sakavicius

Lewis Day

Jack Thomas

Connor Bunn

Harry Turner

Lewis Mann

It was bitterly cold but the boys didn't complain and they gave the Grammar school a run for their money. Playing a man down they ALMOST won and showed great character and sportsmanship throughout. Well done guys - we are absolutely sure you will win next time out.

Next week is a busy one for us - we have Year 5 and 6 students joining us on Monday and Friday for our 'Whiz, Bang, Wallop' days. Tuesday 5th sees our Christmas Concert, organised by Miss Shaw our Head of Music and featuring students in vocal and instrumental performances - Friends of The Peele will also be supporting this event by providing refreshments. Please come along and join us from 7.00pm at St Mary's Church in Long Sutton - do wrap up warm.

On Wednesday 6th we have the OAPs Christmas Luncheon - an annual event which is enjoyed by our guests and students alike. JLT will be helping out with all 3 of these events, so thank you in advance to them - and to Miss Shaw and her talented team of students who will be providing the musical entertainment after the meal.

A bit of advance notice that the Christmas Lunch for students will be on 13th December - information on parentmail and via letters home.

So, December is upon us and we have even had snow this week! Just over 2 weeks until we break up but it will be business as usual as we have a lot of work to get done, so students, I hope you are prepared to be working hard until we break up. I hope that you all have a lovely weekend and that the weather stays sunny, even if it isn't very warm!
