Head Teacher's Blog 25th September 2018

Dear Readers, please excuse the lateness of this Blog. I am keeping it to 3 items this week and normal service will be resumed on Friday.

First of all a reminder that it is our annual Year 6 Open Evening this Thursday. We are open from 5.00pm to 8.00pm and there will be speeches from me at 6.00pm and 7.00pm. This is a really good opportunity for you to come and have a look round the school, chat to students and staff and find out if this is the place for your child to attend Secondary school. The Open Evening is followed by an Open Day on this Friday, when you are welcome to come at either 9.30am or 2.00pm for a guided tour with students and a discussion about the school.

Secondly we have a vacancy for a Parent Governor. If you are interested in joining the Governing Body and having an input into the development of The Peele moving forwards, please contact the Clerk to The Governors via benfells@peele.lincs.sch.uk, or write in to the school, care of 'Clerk to The Governors'.

Finally, I have some sad news to share with the school community. Our D.T. and Art teacher, Mrs Liz Watson, sadly passed away last week following a period of illness. She had only joined us in January of this year but had already had a positive impact with students and colleagues. We will miss her. I have spoken with students and there is support available in school should they require it. If you would like to send any messages to Mrs Watson's family, please send them to me either by email or by writing in to the school, addressed to Head Teacher. I have sent our condolences on behalf of the whole school community.

I wish you all well. Take care of yourselves and of each other.
